Favourite Past Times:  swimming, loves to retrieve dead pigeons when given the opportunity, squirrel chaser (Bob has been known to swat them out of trees and chase them, doesn't hurt them and can't seem catch any, thank goodness)
Favourite Time of Day:  Dinner Time, Bob eats Purina Pro Plan Turkey and Barley or Chicken with Rice and gets two tablespoons of canned pure pumpkin with each meal.  He loves his dinner so much he bounces off my back when I am getting it ready.  He also sings and howls while I am getting it ready, quite an ordeal.

AAC Sanctioned Agility Trial -- held on Saturday, November 20 & Sunday, November 21, 2004 by Guides Canins of St. Lazare, Quebec held at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal, Quebec.

Bob and I at the Olympics

Yesterday was quite an eventful day for Bob and I. We were off to the Olympic Stadium in Montreal for our last agility trial of the year. The weather forecast was iffy so I was a bit worried whether we would go or not.

Well off we went along with one of my golf buddies keen to see this other world. My friend was so impressed and amazed at such a large group of people interested in dogs and the wide variety of activities going on. There was a lot going on at the stadium, conformation, obedience, agility, disc trials, rare breed booths, birds, rabbits, cats, alligators, lion cubs, rock climbing. Probably more including many vendors for all kinds of things. My favourite was the one that sold gourmet chocolates for people :)

We were entered in three runs, Team, Standard and Jumpers (all advanced). Well we bobbled the Team run - at the VERY end. It was dogwalk to tire, well I took my eye off Bob as I was getting ready to hand over the baton and he passed the plane of the tire, came back then did it but that was too late, drat. My friend ran clean too. No Team qualified which was too bad. I am so proud of how well our team did minus the hiccup and we ended up placing First.

Second run, Standard. No cigar, Bob FLEW off the teeter big time. He was coming out of the tunnel and was just going too fast. It was like look at the springer in the sky, oh, thats Bob - yikes. I think he almost did the splits when he landed. Then when he was doing the second last obstacle, again the dog walk, he thought it was the teeter, went on then bailed, like no way man, this thing is dangerous. I got him back on and he was okay and this time went through the tire. Placed Third.

Third run, Jumpers, second in the ring. First dog went in every wrong tunnel - okay Michelle remember the course, ignore the cute schnauzer having fun. Bob in the ring, lets do it boy, and that we did. A beautiful clean run in 36 seconds (allowed 45), Yahoo, what a way to finish. We came in second place and got the best ribbon of all the little Q ribbon.

There was disco music going on that made you want to dance. The announcer actually was dancing half the time in her chair. It was a wild and fun environment and didnt bother Bob a bit. Bob really enjoyed the fenced in birds and felt that he could really have some fun barking at them and getting them riled up.

Bob finished the year with getting a Starters title with AAC, two legs in his Advanced Standard, one Jumpers leg and two legs in Itermediate with the CKC. We will resume obedience next year and get that OTCH we have been working on (well sometimes working on :))

We got home at 12:30 a.m. and after a long walk in the woods today with his sister Trudy, who stayed home with dad, we are all pooped.
