Rio the Toy Tester and
the Grunting Hedge Hog
Christmas morning I awoke
to find my stocking filled with goodies. Poking out from the top
was a very cute stuffed hedge hog. It was love at first sight.
Rio's
Ratings
Challenge: The hedge hog is
great for running around the house with. It's not too big and
it's easy to carry.
Interest Factor: I love all stuffed animals--at least for 2
laps around the house.
Comments: The hedge hog is VERY cute. All the
humans wanted to play with him too (before he got dog slobber on him
that is). I think I'll be able to chew off his eyes pretty
easily and maybe his nose too--if mom gives me a chance. I like
tearing off felt.
Rio gives it a 6/10

Piper's Observations
Challenge: It took me a few tries to figure out how to
get the loudest grunt out of the hedge hog, but once I got going I
couldn't stop! It's very addictive.
Interest Factor: I loved
retrieving the hedge hog. I'd chase him down and then run back
with him doing the 'victory grunt' until he could be thrown again.
Comments: Mom
found that the hedge hog got slimey really fast, but found that if you
flung the poor hedge hog by the nose, that you wouldn't get slimed.
The house guests did not appreciate playing fetch with the hedge
hog... Everyone LOVED the grunting noise. It is much
softer than the usual squeeky toys I play with. Someone said it
sounded like the cat throwing up, but I think they still liked it :)
Poor Mr. Hedge Hog lost his grunt though after about 10 minutes of me
playing with him. I'm usually very gentle on toys, but I guess
he just couldn't stand up to so much repeat squeaking. We will
miss his grunt, but he still makes a crinkly noise that keeps me
interested.
Piper gives it a 4/10
(great fun, but it didn't hold up)
