Rio the Toy Tester and the "Flashing Ball"

This week mom brought home a new package from the dog store.  Once again, Piper-the-pushy-one got to open it.  It turned out to be a red ball.  Piper went wild.  She kept running around and dropping it in mom and dad's laps for them to throw.  Later that night, we went for a walk and this silly red ball got to come with us.  Dad threw it and it hit the ground and started flashing!!!  Away Piper went.  On the way back all you could see was this red ball in Piper's mouth.  We got some strange looks that night.  People were wondering what this flashing, moving thing coming at them was...  Some man asked mom where he could get a flashing collar like that for his dog!

Rio's Ratings
Challenge:  Piper moves really fast while chasing the ball--it's hard to grab on to her as she runs by.
Interest Factor:  Piper will chase it for hours and I will chase Piper for hours.
Comments:  Balls aren't all that much fun and this one isn't even good for chewing on.

Rio gives it a 4/10

Piper's Observations
Challenge:  Balls are never a challenge.  I have them figured out.  Run really fast, you'll get 'em.
Interest Factor:  I love any form of ball.  This ball even keeps mom entertained.  She loves seeing this blinking ball coming flying back to her even when she can't see me!

Comments:  It took me a bit to figure this flashing thing out.  I normally track the ball in the sky to figure out where it'll land (hence we lose a lot of tennis balls at night).  With this flashing ball, it doesn't flash when going through the air, only when it hits the ground, so I had to change my style of play to looking for the ball once it hits the ground.  Mom has to carry a towel when we play with the flashing ball, it gets pretty slimy and hard to throw after it's been in my mouth a few times.

Piper gives it a 9/10
